"Annieglass, handcrafted sculptural glass dinnerware, serving pieces, drinkware and accessories, is designed by artist Ann Morhauser of Santa Cruz, California. The studio was founded in 1983 when Ann translated her love of ancient Italian relics into an abstracted modern design for a plate. A simple circle of transparent glass with a handpainted 24k gold rim, it was an instant hit in the tableware marketplace and is now a recognized industry icon. She titled the design Roman Antique, subsequently offering a variation with a platinum rim. Over the years, this signature pattern has been joined by a wealth of complementary styles. Imaginative, unexpected shapes inspired by the artist's oceanside locale -flowers, rocks, leaves, fish, boats, rippling water, rounded triangles, stars, and shells -are available in clear or frosted glass and in a palette of lush, tropical colors.
